That will reduce anti-social behaviour, gang culture, drug and alcohol misuse, exclusion and academic failure, the unemployment amongst young people, crime, relationship breakdowns, mental health and self-harming.

These reductions are achieved by running a four part program that engages young people in both individual and group counselling; emotional understanding and well-being workshops and a goal orientated program

the pearson foundation

The Pearson Foundation

The Pearson Foundation is the recruitment company that prides itself on providing employers with the best young talent in the UK from some of the most deprived areas of Britain.

Our mission is to bring the most lucrative employment opportunities to young people in boroughs that have the highest unemployment rates.

We believe that young people in disadvantages areas of Britain impose a negative stigma on themselves that the biggest and best jobs being advertised, are not available to them because of where they’re from.

We provide a talent pool for employers to tap into, and in most cases it’s a talent pool that some employers have never explored before. We want the biggest and finest employers in the UK to make an effort to engage with people from these areas of society and contribute to seeing diversity in the workforce reflect diversity in British society.

G.O.S does not just provide a service but an overall experience focused on what skaters want and need. We consist of a very small team of passionate skaters who naturally understand the needs of skaters and are committed to providing the highest level of customer service. Since starting G.O.S we have taken part in a range of skating events, such as roller discos, street skates, charity and community events and of course games on skates. On occasions, we join with like-minded organizations to create events that will have a long lasting positive impact on young people.
The sport in games on skates is in its literal sense. We have created an academy which consists of; football, hockey, netball, dodgeball, kwick cricket, tug of war, speed skating and these are just to name a few. Skating is one of the most complete physical exercises that exist enjoying huge popularity on a world level. Knowing this we decided to bring games on skates to an audience that it will have a huge positive impact on.  We are proud to say that we are now teaching roller-skating in primary and secondary schools, colleges, and other youth provisions. The combination of these games and the skills of our qualified instructors, enable us to put on after school classes to teach young people how to skate and promote the sport ‘Games on Skates’.

‘I’m a Gun’ – Gang & Gun Awareness

im a gun

When a gun suddenly decides to share its story, it’s time to listen. The use of street grammar and slang sets the scene in this metaphorically written crime novel based on the life of Blacka, and the violent streets of London.

The death of someone close to his heart spurs Blacka further down the criminal pathway, where violent crimes and terror are the norm. Mya is a beautiful black young female, conscious of her peoples past and focused on the future. They say opposites attract; will this attraction change the way Blacka views life, and how he lives it, or has Blacka’s love for the street’s and violent outburst become his own destruction. Written from a gun’s perspective, this book details the psychological and physical effects of the gun and its contribution to crime, murder, division, and other problematic situations which plague the black community.

The tragic incidences which occur in this novel reflect real life situations that young males and females find themselves in once drawn into the lifestyle of the streets.

Written to enlighten, awaken and reach out to our youths, I’m a gun digs deep into the dark underworld of criminal activities, and terrifying violence which plagues the black community.

Written from various angles and through various characters eyes, such as the infamous Black, none stand out predominate like the character of the gun, who hates, infiltrates and falsely empowers our youth, clouding them with an illusion of strength, blinding them from the harsh reality that leads to destruction. The tragic incidences which occur within this novel, were written to reflect real life situations which our young males and females find themselves in once drawn into the lifestyle of the street.  This thrilling and tense story is used a reflection tool and has been designed into a strong instrument to highlight issue, disorder or life changes re: relationships, values, behavior etc…
